Pink Ribbon Bike Race 2013

06/03/2013

Sunday 28th July sees the third running of the Pink Ribbon Trophy at Mendips Raceway, Bristol

It's one of those times when the Stock Car Community really pulls together to raise money for research towards a cure for this most awful of diseases, cancer.

We all know someone who has been affected by cancer, my self a very dear friend lost his battle with cancer, that’s one of my driving forces behind doing any fund raising for Cancer Research.
Alongside the Pink Ribbon Trophy for the twos and Filo's Crashmania for the bangers, there are numerous fundraising events, raffles, stunts to get your teeth into and relieve you of your pennies. But you too can get involved!

This year sees the second running of the Pink Ribbon Bike Race. Last year had an awesome turnout for it. Sadly, like most Bristol meetings last season, it absolutely tipped it down.

For a £5 entry fee, and a bike, get your finest fancy dress (or not, but its better if you do!) and get on track with the likes of Chris Bradbury, Neil Hooper , for 5 wild laps of Mendips Madness. Well, if you can complete five of course!

Like all good short oval racings, the traditional handicap system is in place. Those over the age of 45 are deemed to be white, in terms of seniority. Those between 35 and 44 are deemed to be yellow graders, 25 to 34 are blue. Red is the grade for the youthful exuberance of 20 to 24, where as the under 19 whippersnappers start at the very back and try to jump the start!
