36 Unlimited Bangers turned up which was split up for Two Heats, there was a good mix of cars including a lot of Ford Granada’s and Jag’s with a Triumph and a Volvo Estate. Due to a busy weekend for theF2’s there was a few cancelations with damage and some welcome additions turned up not booked in including 183 Charlie Guinchard, and 880 Jack Witts, with enough cars for a 2/3rds format and they were a lot of good battle’s all afternoon.
In the 1st Heat 739 Jason Moore took the early lead from 2nd on the grid, and 300 Jon Ayles got spun out and there was a bit of a melee on the turnstile bend and 105 Louis Tomkins hit the wall hard and 290 Jay Tomkins ended up facing the wrong way, 220 Troy Cooper spent most of the race in 2nd, before 67 Rickie Beasley eased Cooper wide for the position, Moore went on to take the win from, R.Beasley then Cooper, then Mills.
In the 2nd Heat 788 Darren Morgan, 19 Luke Setters, 1 and 87 Liam Harvey all got spun out during the race, and 304 Mark Jewel and 62 Brad Sutter had a big coming together on the home straight and got wedged together (after the race the tractor’s had a lot of trouble separating them) 77 Paxti Beasley went on to take the win from 961 Deeprose, then 91 Sam Bartlet.
13 Bangers made it out for the Consolation, B.Sutter was struggling to get round in his badly damaged car, and 4 cars got spun out, 242 Toby Doo went on to take the win from 888, then 121.
21 cars came out for the Thunderbolt Final 784 Henry Murraytook the early lead from 2nd on the grid and lead most of the race, further back there was a bit of action on the turnstile bend and they was a few cars got spun out during the course of the race, eventually 390 eased Murray to take the lead and near the end of the race Mills spun 154 Joe Odhams out of 3rd, 390 went on to take the win from Murray, then Mills.
242 Toby Doo took the win from Murray, then Mills
18 cars came out for the 1st Heat 262 Charlie Cocks took the early lead until 976 Dan Kent took the lead, further back 710 Loui Stuckey and 128 Jake Ralfs had a coming together and Stuckey hit the marker tyre, then with two to go Witts took the lead with Guinchard in hot pursuit, Witts went on to take the win from Guinchard, then 890 Paul Rice, then Kent.
235 Alfie Brimble led from pole and built up a big lead, then 127 Matt Stoneman won the battle for 2nd and set about reeling in Brimble, and with 5 to go Stoneman caught Brimble and passed him then Brimble’s Aerofoil dropped forward forcing him to retire, Stoneman went on to win from Bennett, then 207 Alfie Flecken, then Witts.
The bumpers was flying In the 3rd Heat Brimble again built up a big lead from pole with 405 Josh Hamstead in 2nd, until Brimble’s Aerofoil dropped forward again forcing him to retire, gifting Hamstead the lead until Guinchard and Stoneman got passed Hamstead for the lead, Guinchard went on to take the win, from Stoneman, then Bennett, then Hamstead.
The bumper’s was flying again in the Final and on the turnstile bend Stuckey ended up in the wall, and 844 Jack Posser was left facing the wrong way. Brimble led the re-start from Kent, then Kent took the lead, then Bennett worked his way up to 2nd then Bennet passed Kent for the lead with Guinchard in hot pursuit, then with a lap left Guinchard punted Bennett wide to take the lead, Bennett tried get him back but couldn’t make it stick, Guinchard went on to take the win from Bennett, then Rice. When the commentator asked Guinchard, why he didn’t go for a last bender and went a lap earlier Guinchard said that was when Bennett least expected it!!
In the Grand National Brimble took the early lead before 605 Richard Andrews took up the running the Bennett taped Brimble in to spin Andrews went on to take the win, from Rice, Wittts, and Guinchard came home in 9th from the lap handicap.
16 Robins came out for the 1st Heat and 14 M.Loader was Leading until his front wheel came adrift. There was 7 Rollover’s during the race and 69 R.Loader went the length of the straight on his side, and 210 Ryan Brooks had a multi rollover, 154 Joe Odhams went onto take the win and Brooks took the Entertainer’s Award
12 Robins came out for the 2nd Heat which had 5 rollover’s, and 30 Joe Capel was leading until he put himself on his side, 362 Aaron Loader went on to take the win, with Odhams taking the Entertainers Award.
16 cars came out for the Final which had a lot of rollovers 235 Brimble and 227 Nick Harding had big Rollovers at the end of Race, M.Loader took the win and N.Harding Took the Entertainers Award
With one caravan out for a Hare and Hounds and the Caravan being a Hare, the race featured 3 Rollover’s, and 3 Dan Tytheridge took the win and 10 Harvey Coles took the Entertainers Award.
