It was a dry afternoon with dry track conditions.
The Special Rods was running a 2/3rds format, they were a lot of close racing and overtaking and a lot of crashes. 12 Cars came out for the 1st Heat 301 Fred Moore took the early lead from pole, and led for a while from 175 Kevin Oliver, then 61 Beth Stevenson, Stevenson then found a way past Oliver for 2nd, 43 Andy Howard made it up to 3rd, then A.Howard went round the outside of Stevenson for 2nd and about the ½ way mark A.Howard went round the outside of Moore to take the lead, then 701 Ben Brice got up to 3rd and was putting Stevenson under severe pressure and she hang on until with two laps left she spun out giving B.Brice 2nd, A.Howard went on to win by about ½ lap from B.Brice then, 100 Thomas Weeks. 13 cars came out for the 2nd Heat then 46 Angie Harris broke down before the rolling lap. Oliver took the early lead from 2nd on the grid, and A.Howard quickly got up to 2nd from 4th on the grid, then A.Howard went round the outside of Oliver to take the lead, and Stevenson quickly made it up from 6th on the grid to take 2nd, and with 5 to go B.Brice went round the outside of Stevenson, then on the last lap 700 Les Brice nipped up the inside of B.Brice, and L.Brice and B.Brice crossed the line side-by-side, A.Howard went on take the win, from B.Brice, then L.Brice, then 720 Dan Latimer(from last on the grid), Stevenson, then 303 Jason Oliver(from 11th on the grid). 14 cars came out for the 3rd Heat Harris took the early lead from 2nd on the grid, then 44 Sam Howard made it up from 4th on the grid to take the lead and built up a big lead, then with 5 to go, 60 Tom Bristow and 120 Andy Latimer had a big coming together on the back straight causing a big melee as the pack tried to avoid them and 775 Brad Hunt ended up facing the wrong way!! 41 Dene Howard, T.Bristow, and A.Latimer retied with damage. On the re-start S.Howard then built up a big lead, and Moore and Harris kept swapping places for 2nd, S.Howard went on to take the win from, Harris, then Moore. 19 Cars came out for the Final 769 Sam Delahay took the early lead from 2nd on the grid and led for a while, then Moore was trying to go round the outside of S.Delahay, and Moore got a bit to sideways causing mayhem behind!! Which resulted in a stoppage and 303 J.Oliver, and S.Howard, and 445 Niki Loader, and 66 Ben Britow had to retire with damage, S.Delahay led the re-start, from K.Oliver, then Moore, then Hunt, then A.Howard. Then Weeks had a spin on the home straight and a few cars had difficulty get round the pit bend!! Harris spun and Stevenson hit the fence, for another stoppage and Harris, Stevenson, and A.Latimer retired. The oil flag was out on the re-start, which was led by S.Delahay, then K.Oliver, then Hunt, then Moore. Then Hunt went round the outside of K.Oliver and S.Delahay for the lead. Hunt went on to take the win from A.Howard then D.Latimer(from last on the grid).
The Junior Rods was also running a 2/3rds format with a lot of close racing and overtaking which also had a few crashes. 12 cars came out for the 1st Heat 18 Curtis Brown took the early lead from pole and 162 Charlie Cocks was quick up to 2nd from 4th on the grid, and Brown built a big lead, then 311 Lewis Allen was quick up to 3rd from the back of the grid, and C.Cocks, and Allen reeled in Brown, then Allen nipped up the inside of C.Cocks for 2nd, then Allen went round the outside of Brown for the lead, on the last lap there was a 3 way scrap for 3rd between 28 Jake Ralfs, 149 Ieuan Preston, and 236 Alfie Brimble and they went 3 abreast!! Allen took the win from, C.Cocks, then Ralfs, then, I.Preston then, then A.Brimble. 11 cars came out for the 2nd Heat 856 Jamie Cocks quickly took up the lead from 4th on the grid, from 429 Tristen Heathcote, then about the ½ way mark Allen, and 190 Thomas Gumbleton went round the outside of Heathcote, for 2nd and 3rd, then Gumbleton tried to go round the outside of Allen but couldn’t make it stick, J.Cocks went on to take the win from Allen, then Gumbleton, 11 cars came out for the 3rd Heat Brown took the early lead from, C.Cocks, then J.Cocks, then 184 Callum Preston ended up facing the wrong way and 314 Max Barraclough had come to a halt on the turnstile bend, which caused mayhem as the pack came back round!! Brown led the re-start from C.Cocks, then J.Cocks, then Gumbleton, then Gumbleton went round the outside of J.Cocks, then C.Cocks and Gumbleton went round the outside of Brown for 1st and 2nd , then Gumbleton went round the outside of C.Cocks for the lead, then with two to go Brown accidently tapped 87 Liam Harvey , and Harvey spun and was collected head-on by 210 Ryan Brooks. The result was declared from the last completed lap giving Gumbleton the win, from C.Cocks, then 26 Harry Melville. 15 cars came out for the Final, 610 Alfie Murray took the early lead from pole, the Brown made it up from 4th to take the lead, then Heathcote went round the outside of Brown for the lead then Brown spun in front of J.Cocks, then Allen made it up to 3rd, then Allen went up the inside of A.Brimble for 2nd, then Allen went round the outside of Heathcote for the lead, Allen went on to take the win from C.Cocks, then Gumbleton, then Ralfs.
17 4X4 Bangers turned up there was a good mix of vehicles. In the 1st Heat 112 nearly rolled, and 262 Roona survived the knocks and spins to take the win from 333 Charlie Randell, then 129 Lee Dalton. 15 4x4’s made it out for the 2nd heat and Dalton got introduced to the wall in a big way, and 81 Pops Bugler went round the turnstile bend on 2 Wheel’s!!! Roona went on to take the win from, 221 John Pee-wee-Paul, then Randell. 14 4X4’s made it out for the Final 177 Shane Penfold was getting a lot of attention, then Randell and Penfold had a big coming together triggering a lot of action!! Then Chaz got called in so the marshell’s could put out a fire in his car!!, then Pops Bugler had a massive rollover!! Roona led the re-start then 111 Tommo got spun out and was collected head-on by 595 Ben Wall. 7 4X4’s made the distance and Roona went on to take the win, from 404 Rob Mills. 9 4X4’s came out for the Allcomer’s Race with 2 more waiting for the D/D. In the Allcomer’s Race Dalton was introduced to the wall again, and 87 Jason Harvey jacked 49 Ash Harvey up!! Roona went on to take the win, In a very hard hitting D/D which had a slow start, which finished with Tommo was the filling in a big sandwich, when he was hit head on by J.Paul, then M.Mills, went then Randell also joined the party and Roona was the last car running then he also decided to join the party!!!
