Introducing the Mendips Raceway Pink Ribbon 5 Lap Charity Bike Race
Monday 7th May 2012 is Pink Ribbon Day at Mendips Raceway. The Pink Ribbon Trophy is in memory of Lesley Maidment, former lap-scorer at Mendips Raceway and Brisca F2 driver Nathan Maidment's mother.
Andy Chant, the race convener aka 'Mr Starter' said, 'With the banger olympics, we are not running a Filo Crashmania during 2012... so May 7th is going to be our big day for cancer this year. As well as inviting everyone to wear pink and to come ready to drop their change into the buckets, we thought it would be good to do something extra... hence the bike ride!
'We've all got somebody who has lost the battle against cancer... and it seemed right to do something extra to raise a few pounds more for this worthwhile cause that affects one in three of us at some point in our lives. So come on everyone, do sign up! - said Andy'
It's a fiver per person to enter... fancy dress optional and relay teams welcome!
