Saloon Stock Cars

13/02/2008

Often claimed to be the true derivatives of the original fifties stock cars.

The formula is regulated by the Saloon Stock Car Association, and is truly national; appearing all over Great Britain, and some tracks in Europe.

Heavily armoured cars, in which Sierras and Sapphires are universally regarded as the first choice of donor car.

All cars are powered by 2-litre Ford Pinto engines. Occasionally controversial, very hard hitting, contact racing - not for the faint hearted - as cars hit, spin and sometimes roll.

Saloon Stock Cars compete at around 12 to 15 dates in the West Country during the season, with plenty of action for the drivers throughout the country also.
